You can find European airlines which now serve HKG, or had served HKG before. All photos below are taken by me, Christopher from HKG, unless otherwise stated. They are taken in different places around Hongkong International Airport. Enjoy it!

Luftwaffe A310-300 registered as 10+21 visited HKG during
the World Bank 1997 which was held in mid-September 1997.
The plane was a VIP flight. It was parking in the souther apron.
The picture was taken on September 20, 1997 in the morning.

The Olympic Airways Falcon 900 visited HKG two times in
1997, one during the handover and the other during the
World Bank. This one is a SX-ECH, photographed in late-June.

PrivateAir SA B757-200? It is a Switzerland private
plane comany. It visited HKG on May 8, 1997 at
dusk. The aircraft was a B757-200 HB-IEE.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has non-stop flights from Amsterdam,
arriving and departing HKG in the morning, using B747-400. This one,
was a B747-400 Combi, PH-BFT. This photo was taken in late-June 1997.

Lufthansa has daily morning flights from Frankfurt, using B747-400.
Lufthansa Cargo also flies to HKG using B747F. This is one of its
B747-400s, D-ABVC. This photo was taken in late-June 1997.

Air France B747-400 turned for its IGS approach on RWY13.
AF has daily flights from Paris CDG, all using B747-400s. AF
also has flights to Manila. This photo was taken in late-July 1997.

BAB74404.JPG British Airways B747-400 G-BNLI City of Sheffield

British Airways in old colors, B747-400, G-BNLI, City of Sheffield, was
approaching HKG on RWY13. BA has more than 14 flights weekly to HKG
from London Heathrow Terminal 4. It also has services to Manila and Taipei.

British Airways B747-400 in new colors! BA announced its new
livery in June 1997, with different tail patterns in every BA's aircraft.
This B747-400 is registered as G-CIVM. This photo was taken in July 1997.

British Airways now have more and more hybrid-colored aircraft
in order to prepare for its coming new color scheme. This
aircraft, G-BNLT, was arriving from Heathrow on March 29, 1997.

Swissair has 5 weekly flights between Zurich and HKG.
Three of them use B747-300s, but with a stop at Mumbai;
while the other two flights use MD11s. The aircraft
shown here, HB-IWM, is in old-color scheme.
It was going to land on HKG using IGS approach.
The photo was taken on March 6, 1997 at about 1545.

Aeroflot Russian Airlines have non-stop scheduled flights to HKG three times weekly. This A310-304 is painted in an early color-scheme.

This is the Air France Concorde which visited HKG recently.
It arrived HKG on October 6, 1996 at 1212. It was having its
final approach in HKG and was arriving from Beijing. The aircraft
used was F-BTSD and with arrival flight no. as AF4816.
This flight departed HKG for Delhi on October 9, 1996 at 0920.
This picture was taken on October 19, 1996
when it was landing using RWY13.

Alitalia now flies 3 times a week to HKG using a MD11. The flights are all non-stop to and from Rome. Alitalia's MD11s use General Electric Engines.

Alitalia Cargo started its all-cargo flight last year, using a B747.
It arrives HKG from Rome on Saturday evening.
This B747-243F SCD, registered as I-DEMR, is named as "Titano".

This is the British Airways Concorde which visited HKG recently.
It arrived HKG on October 16, 1996 at 1726. It was having its
round-the-world trip and just arrived from Beijing. The aircraft used
was G-BOAD and with arrival flight no. as BA9097C.
This picture was taken on October 19, 1996 in Kowloon Bay
where it was parked. It left on the same day.

British Asia Airways B747-436 G-CIVE, BAB74401.JPG

British Asia Airways is a wholly-owned subsidiary of
British Airways, for serving the UK-Taiwan route.
Now British Asia Airways has 3 aircrafts, which are
all B747-400s. This photo was taken in July 1996 in
Taipei Chiang Kai Shek International Airport.
The registration of this B747-400 is G-CIVE and
it is named as the "City of Sunderland".

Cargolion is based in Luxembourg. Cargolion seldom flies to HKG.
This Cargolion DC8-62CF, registered as LX-TLA,
visited HKG on August 25, 1995 in the early morning.

Carolux is also based in Luxembourg. It has scehduled cargo flights
between HKG and Luxembourg twice weekly. It is the first airline
which recieved the first B747-400 frieghter. This B747-400F,
registered as LX-HCV, had its approach to HKG.

Cargolux not only flies B747-400Fs to HKG, but also with B747-200s.
This one, registered as LX-ACV, is one of its B747-271C model.

KLM, together with British Airways and Swissair have flights to Taipei. The three of them all have special aircrafts to serve this route.
KLM Asia is designed exclusively for the Taipei route. This KLM Asia B747-406 SCD, registered as PH-BFC, is called "City of Calgary".

Lufthansa B747-430, LHB74401.JPG

Lufthansa provides daily service to and from Frankfurt. It uses a B747-400
to serve the HKG-Frankfurt route. This is one of the Lufthansa B747-400.
It is registered as D-ABVN. Lufthansa also has cargo flights to HKG,
using B747 freighters. The B747-400 shown was departing HKG
using the Runway 31, which does not use very often, except when
there is a change in wind direction or visibility. The white building
behind is the Hongkong Air Cargo Terminal (HACTL).

Martinair B747-228F, MPB74F01.JPG

Martinair has scheduled flights to HKG. It usually uses a B747 to fly this route. However, MD11 had served HKG before. This aircraft shown here is a B747-228F, registered as PH-MCN, and is called "Prince Bernard Junior".
