Geographically and ethnically related to China, Hong Kong is China's most important gateway. Hong Kong is the source of nearly half of China's foreign exchange. Nearly ninety percent of goods which passed through Hong Kong in 1993 were going either to or from China. People crossed Hong Kong's borders more than 90 million times in 1995, and more than half of these movements were into or out of China.
Hong Kong is as much an international city as it is a Chinese one. There are expatriates from scores of nations. Hong Kong's strengths are related to its international connections and expertise in business, finance, communications and trade. Called one of the "tigers of Asia" because of its economic strength, Hong Kong's future is a world concern. It is important that Hong Kong not become isolated and disappear under the burgeoning belly of southern China.
As a gateway to China, Hong Kong is also spiritually important. Many Christian businessmen, teachers, students and tourists carry their lives, testimonies and sometimes Bibles and Christian literature into China through Hong Kong. Travelers bring the testimonies and news of Christians in China out with them, creating important fellowship links to the worldwide body of Christ.

Quick Scripture Reference Matthew 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matthew 7:13-14
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Isaiah 62:10
Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.
Psalm 24
THE earth is the Lords, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
Ezekiel 33:7-9
So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
1 Peter 5:1-4
The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over Gods heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
